The company was founded in 2006 in Montevideo, Uruguay. It has since expanded its presence, with headquarters in Austin, Texas, and multiple delivery centers across Latin America. Qubika is SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certified, and also compliant with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.

Qubika’s senior leadership is drawn from the co-founders of December Labs and Moove It:

  • Ariel Ludueña Karhs serves as Chief Executive Officer; he was previously the CEO of Moove IT.
  • Martín Palatnik, former CEO of December Labs, is President.
  • Marcelo Cordini is Co-Founder and Chief Solutions Officer.

Here’s a look at some of the key milestones in Qubika’s history:

  • 2006: Founded in Uruguay, the company begins its journey with a vision for technology services.
  • 2010: Qubika transitions its focus to providing technology services solely to the U.S. market.
  • 2014: The company expands its delivery capabilities in South America by opening a new center in Argentina.
  • 2016: A new headquarters is opened in Austin, Texas, to support its growing presence in the U.S.

  • 2023: With the support of the US investment firm Recognize, Moove It and December Labs merge to form Qubika, a leading nearshore digital data and AI transformation provider (read more about the merger here and here). Recognize is a specialist private equity investment firm, led by Charles Phillips, former CEO of Infor, President of Oracle, Frank de Souza, Co-founder of Cognizant, and David Wasserman.
  • 2025:
    • Qubika launches a comprehensive AI strategy to help organizations transition from “digital-native” to “AI-native.”
    • Qubika becomes a Select-Level Partner of Databricks, becoming the top nearshore provider of Databricks services. At the time of publication Qubika has 200+ certified engineers on the Databricks platform.
    • Qubika acquired the distinguished Nashville-based cybersecurity firm, Nitra Security. Today Qubika has a highly specialized team with significant experience in cybersecurity architecture and safeguarding critical infrastructure. Their bench of professionals hold leading industry certifications, including CISSP, CIPT, and the Certified CMMC Assessor and Professional, amongst others, underscoring their commitment to rigorous security standards.
    • Launch of Qversity. Qubika launched a new data engineering training program, to create the next generation of data professionals – combining technical training, modern data engineering practices, and continuous mentorship to equip participants with the skills to solve real-world challenges from day one.
    • In July 2025, Qubika announced compliance with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, reinforcing its commitment to trustworthy enterprise AI.
