What AIM Research’s Databricks Services Report Says About the Market in 2026

AIM Research’s 2026 Databricks Services report reveals how enterprises are prioritizing lakehouse modernization alongside production AI, governance, and FinOps strategies. Qubika ranks third in technical Maturity and fifth in market Penetration among leading Databricks services partners.

According to AIM Research’s Top Databricks Services Partners 2026 report, enterprises continue to invest heavily in lakehouse builds, data engineering modernization, and cloud migration, even as governance, AI, and platform operations become increasingly important.

AIM Research evaluated 16 consulting and systems integration partners using its Penetration Maturity (PeMa) framework. Penetration measures market reach and traction, while Maturity evaluates technical expertise and the ability to deliver sophisticated Databricks solutions.

Modernization remains the center of the market

One of the report’s clearest findings is that Lakehouse Build, Data Engineering Modernization, and Cloud Data Migration account for 50% to 75% of partner project volume.

Generative AI, agentic workflows, and Unity Catalog governance are developing rapidly, but they are growing on top of this core modernization work rather than replacing it.

Much of that work involves modernizing existing estates. AIM identifies migrations from platforms including Teradata, SAS, Snowflake, Redshift, and SQL Server as a significant source of partner activity, with cost increasingly acting as a trigger for consolidation.

At the same time, service portfolios across partners are converging. As a result, AIM argues that buyers should look beyond whether a provider offers a particular capability and examine the scale and complexity of what it has actually delivered.

Accelerators, governance, and FinOps are growing in importance

Reusable IP is playing an increasingly important role in how Databricks partners translate delivery experience into faster, more repeatable outcomes. AIM Research highlights the value of accelerators that have been proven in production, particularly when they reflect the scale, complexity, and requirements of the workload being addressed.

The areas of investment are also evolving. FinOps and cost observability are the fastest-growing accelerator category, with Unity Catalog governance another area of expansion. At the leading edge, AIM identifies Databricks-native agentic AI platforms as an emerging high-value differentiator, bringing together capabilities such as Mosaic AI, Agent Bricks, and Unity Catalog.

Governance and cost optimization are becoming more deeply embedded in platform operations as well. AIM describes Unity Catalog as the governance spine in more developed environments, while advanced FinOps practices extend across compute policies, budget controls, usage attribution, workload optimization, and continuous monitoring. Together, these capabilities help enterprises move beyond implementation toward operating Databricks securely, efficiently, and at scale.

AI is moving toward governed production workloads

Although AI is not yet the majority of Databricks services work, the nature of AI engagements is changing.

AIM identifies Enterprise RAG, natural-language analytics, and agentic AI among the workloads enterprises are building. For agentic AI specifically, the report describes a move from GenAI pilots toward production agents acting on governed enterprise data, supported by orchestration, evaluation, observability, and access controls.

This reinforces one of the broader themes running through the study: emerging AI capabilities are increasingly connected to the quality, governance, and operational maturity of the underlying data platform.

Qubika named a Leader

Within this market, AIM Research places Qubika in the Leaders quadrant of its 2026 PeMa evaluation.

Qubika ranks fifth in Penetration, with a score of 0.68, and third in Maturity, with a score of 0.85.

Qubika is a Gold Databricks partner with more than 250 certifications and was awarded Databricks’ Specialization for Communications, Media, Entertainment & Gaming in July 2026. AIM reports that Qubika progressed from Select to Gold in roughly two and a half years while tripling its joint Databricks customers.

The report also highlights Qubika’s production experience as well as our reusable IP which includes QBricks, a Built on Databricks platform for designing, deploying, governing, evaluating, and monitoring AI agents, alongside accelerators for Unity Catalog, governance migration, GraphRAG, MLOps, and other workloads.

Most Databricks services partners come to the platform from an analytics-services background.

Qubika came from building the products that generate the data, and its client base reflects that, streaming services, gaming platforms, and consumer lenders where the lakehouse sits underneath something millions of people use daily, which shapes the work itself, with pipelines built for real-time load, governance designed for regulated consumer data, and accelerators and an agent platform that ship into live environments.

For digital-native enterprises where the data platform is part of the product, Qubika is a strong choice for moving that platform onto Databricks and keeping it running under production load.

What this means for enterprises

AIM Research’s report points to a Databricks services market becoming more mature and more demanding.

Foundational modernization remains the largest area of work. But the capabilities surrounding it—from reusable IP and Unity Catalog governance to FinOps and production AI—are becoming increasingly important.

As partner service portfolios converge, the report suggests that enterprises should look beyond capability lists and focus on production evidence, deployment scale, technical maturity, and experience with comparable workloads.

Qubika’s placement in the Leaders quadrant, including its third-place Maturity ranking, reflects the depth AIM Research identified across those areas and its experience delivering Databricks environments where the data platform must perform under real production demands.
